Colour Match

Pick the Pokémon that matches the colour.

A colour is named and you pick which Pokémon in the line-up the Pokédex actually files under it.

How Colour Match works

This is Guess Colour run backwards. Instead of a sprite, the prompt is a single colour, shown as a large swatch with its name, and below it sit four Pokémon to choose from. Your job is to tap the one the Pokédex officially classifies under that colour. Because the other three are usually near misses, you are really deciding which species the games bucket where, not which one looks closest. A reveal beat marks the right sprite and names it after each pick. The same endless, quiz, and timed formats apply, and two players can trade turns in pass and play.

Strategy

Work by elimination against the dex, not your eye. Rule out any option whose dominant colour clearly belongs to a different bucket, then weigh the survivors by how the games classify borderline shades. Remember that only one answer fits, so a line-up of four reddish Pokémon usually hides three that the dex files elsewhere. When stuck, recall specific entries you know are officially that colour rather than trusting which sprite looks most saturated.

What it teaches

Color Match sharpens the same ten-bucket Pokédex colour knowledge as its forward twin, but from the opposite direction, teaching you to recall which species belong to a colour rather than which colour belongs to a species.
