Read a Pokédex description with its subject blanked out and pick which of four Pokémon the lore is really about.

How Dex Entry works

A genuine Pokédex flavor entry appears with the species name scrubbed to question marks, along with any telltale fragments of that name buried in the sentences, so the words alone have to carry you. Four choices follow and one is the creature described. The three distractors are drawn from the same generation as the answer and spread across different primary types where possible, so knowing the era alone will not eliminate them. Pick a format, endless, quiz, or timed, or pass the device around a group for a shared pass and play match.

Strategy

Mine the entry for behavior and biology, not vocabulary. Dex text leans on habits, diet, body parts, and legends that often point at one species even with the name removed, so latch onto the concrete detail, a specific flame, a curled tail, a mountain home, before you even glance at the four options. Since every decoy shares the answer generation, ignore the era completely and let the described trait do all the cutting for you.

Dex Entry deepens your grasp of Pokémon lore and characterization, rewarding the close reading of flavor text that most players skim and connecting written descriptions back to the exact creatures they portray.
