How Guess the Generation works
A Pokémon shows up on screen, named and pictured, and you pick which of the nine generations it first appeared in. Because you already know who it is, the challenge is placement rather than identification: was it an original Kanto creature, a Johto addition, a Paldea newcomer? Three formats shape the run. Endless keeps going until your first wrong call, quiz is a fixed ten questions where seven correct counts as a win, and timed asks for as many right answers as you can land in sixty seconds. Pass-and-play lets two people share one device.
Strategy
Anchor on the starters and box legends whose debut you know cold, then place unfamiliar Pokémon relative to them by design era: blocky two-tone sprites tend to read as early gens, while sleeker or more ornate designs lean recent. Regional forms and cross-gen relatives are the classic traps, so pause on any Pokémon that feels like a callback. In timed play, answer the sure ones fast and refuse to stall on a coin-flip.
