Spell a hidden Pokémon name one letter at a time while its sprite fades into view with every correct pick.

How Pokémon Hangman works

The name shows as blanks and you call letters from the full alphabet. Correct letters drop into place and simultaneously sharpen the sprite above, which begins nearly black and resolves further with each unique letter you land, giving sight-readers a second way in. Wrong letters each cost one of your six lives. Before you start you choose a difficulty that filters the pool by name length: easy covers three-to-five-letter names, medium six to eight, and hard nine and up. A shared daily word locks after one play and even preserves a game left mid-guess, alongside an endless unlimited mode.

Strategy

Open with vowels and the consonants Pokémon names lean on hardest, since so many end on the same sounds; a, e, o, r, n, and l uncover a surprising amount for little risk. Keep one eye on the emerging sprite, though, because it often resolves enough to name outright before the letters do, letting you fill the rest deliberately. On hard, long names actually help: more letters mean more chances for common ones to appear, so bank early hits before gambling on a rare consonant.

What it teaches

Hangman exercises Pokémon spelling and the letter patterns their names share, while the fading sprite quietly trains the bond between a written name and the creature it names, reinforcing recognition from two directions at once.
