Shiny Colour

See a Pokémon, guess what colour its shiny is.

A normal Pokémon is shown and you predict which colour bucket its shiny form falls into.

How Shiny Colour works

This is the mirror of True Colour. You see a Pokémon in its familiar normal palette and you guess the colour category its shiny form takes, drawn from the same ten Pokédex buckets. It asks you to remember, or reason out, how a species is recoloured when it shines, which can be a subtle shift or a total swap: a green creature whose shiny turns blue, or a brown one that goes gold. After you choose from four options, the sprite flips to the shiny on the reveal, so you finally see the rare form you were naming. Solo formats and pass and play both apply.

Strategy

This rewards actual shiny knowledge, so lean on the recolours you have seen in raids, hunts, or the wild. When you do not know a species' shiny, reason from patterns: many shinies shift to an adjacent hue rather than a wild one, and a few flip to gold or green regardless of their base. Do not just echo the normal colour on screen, since the whole point is that the shiny usually lands in a different bucket than the form you see.

What it teaches

Shiny Colour builds a memory of shiny palettes across the dex, teaching which species barely change and which transform completely, and reinforcing the ten-colour classification from the rarer side of every Pokémon.
