Type Chain
Pick a Pokémon that hits the shown type super effectively. Its type becomes the next link.
A type is shown. Pick a Pokémon that hits it super effectively, and your pick becomes the next target.
How Type Chain works
Each round shows the current chain link, a single type, and offers four Pokémon. At least one of them carries a type, primary or secondary, that deals super effective damage into the link. Tap a valid attacker and the chain grows: that Pokémon's first type becomes the new link, and four fresh candidates are dealt against it. Matchups follow the current type chart, and a secondary typing counts, so a Water and Ground Pokémon answers a Fire link with either half. There is one format, the chain run: a single wrong pick breaks the chain, ends the run, and shows a Pokémon that would have kept it alive. Your score is the length of the chain.
Strategy
Answer the link before you look at the candidates: recite what beats it, Fire falls to Water, Ground, and Rock, then scan the four for any of those types. Dual types are the hidden depth, since the sprite advertises one half and the other half often carries the matchup, so think in full typings rather than looks. And plan a link ahead when options allow: several picks may be valid, but each hands you a different next type, so steer toward links whose counters you know cold and away from awkward ones like Normal, which only Fighting answers.
What it teaches
Type Chain drills the attacking half of the type chart until it is reflex, which types beat which, how dual typings widen a Pokémon's coverage, and it exposes the matchups you only half know the moment the chain snaps.
